NRL issues breach notices to two Raiders players

The NRL has issued both Corey Horsburgh and Corey Harawira-Naera with breach notices.

COREY HORSBURGH

The National Rugby League (NRL) has issued Corey Horsburgh with a breach notice after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving in ACT Magistrates Court on 23 February.

The specifics being that on Christmas Day Horsburgh recorded a low range blood alcohol reading during a roadside breath test.

The breach notice proposes Horsburgh be suspended for 1 match and fined $5000, with the fine suspended for 12 months. He must also complete an education program as directed by the NRL.

COREY HARAWIRA-NAERA

The NRL has issued Corey Harawira-Naera with a breach notice after he allegedly returned a positive roadside alcohol test on Christmas Day.

Police facts allege Harawira-Naera's blood alcohol reading was in the mid-range. Harawira-Naera has indicated he will plead guilty to the allegations when he appears in ACT Magistrates Court on 25 March.

The breach notice proposes Harawira-Naera be suspended for 2 matches and fined $10,000. He must also complete an education program as directed by the NRL.

The sanctions take a number of factors into account including the player's prior offences and the blood alcohol range.
