We've only got one round to play, but it's time to look at the Dally M medal race, in what should be another thrilling count.

Despite star players across the league putting their hand up for the top individual award of the off-season, it looks as though bookies only believe a few men have a real chance of winning the medal.

They have Roosters fullback James Tedesco as the firm odds-on favourite at $1.75, after a brilliant season.

If you believe Tedesco is the way to go, make sure to follow all of the rugby league betting sites to ensure the best odds available.

Tedesco scored 15 tries in his second season for the Tricolours while leading the league in line and tackle breaks.

Tedesco was ranked sixth on the leaderboard when votes went behind closed doors after Round 12, and has only kicked on from then, helping the Roosters to a second-placed finish.

The second favourite is a regular on the list: two-time recipient and Melbourne Storm captain, Cameron Smith.

Oddsmakers have him a semi-distant favourite at $4, however some bettors will book him in for some sentimentality from voters.

Smith's Storm are once again table toppers and the captain has been praised for his steady presence on the now much younger side.

Smith has been absolute magic in his 18th season for the club but commentators note that the prevalence of Storm five-eighth Cameron Munster may hurt his chances at a third Dally M.

In fact, Munster is the distant third in the race between Smith and Tedesco, and is marginally ahead of last year's winner Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, paying $15 compared to the Kiwi who comes in at $17.

North Queensland enforcer Jason Taumalolo is also at $17, although the Cowboys' poor season could be the thing that counts against him the most.

Mitchell Pearce, who had been the leader at Round 12, has had his odds blow out to $23 after his Knights went on a losing streak that results in the departure of head coach Nathan Brown.
