De Belin court challenge
The judge overseeing Jack de Belin's court case to overturn his playing ban this afternoon indicated the Dragons back-rower will be free to play in his side's opening round match against the Cowboys unless the NRL moves swiftly to enact its "no-fault" stand-down policy.
de Belin says his suspension wasn't valid, alleging the league engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct.
The NRL's lawyers told the court they expect the policy will be in effect ahead of Round 1.

New sponsor for the NSW Cup
With former sponsor Intrust Super no longer looking having naming rights for NSWRL's premier open-age competition, apparel sponsor Canterbury has come on board, with the New South Wales Cup competition holding the title of 'Canterbury Cup NSW'.
In addition to the deal, the NSWRL also confirmed a five-year arrangement with new Parramatta venue Bankwest Stadium to hold its annual Grand Final Day, featuring the Canterbury Cup, Jersey Flegg, Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield deciders.
Pearce to lead Knights
Newcastle last night confirmed that former Rooster Mitchell Pearce will captain the side in 2019. A five-man leadership group at the club will feature Pearce, Aidan Guerra, Tim Glasby, Jamie Buhrer and Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
Ruan Sims honoured
Jillaroo Ruan Sims was one of four finalists at this morning's Premier's Woman of the Year event. While journalist and women's rights advocate Tracey Spicer took out the main prize, a massive congratulations to Sims on the nomination!
