Retiring Storm fullback Billy Slater is free to play the 2018 Telstra Premiership NRL Grand Final after being cleared of a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge - initially Slater faced a one-match suspension after his side's win over Cronulla.

Slater was hit with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge citing from a 14th minute incident where he was attempting to stop Cronulla winger Sosaia Feki from scoring a try down the wing.

The base penalty for the charge is 200 points (2 matches), and with an early plea 150 points (1 match). With Slater retiring this season, the equation is simple, he must go to the judiciary and fight the charge to be any hope of playing in a fairytale farewell decider next Sunday.
